Convenience: Conducting the study in your own home allows you to sleep in your usual environment, which can lead to more accurate results compared to a sleep lab.
Comfort: You can follow your normal nighttime routine without the need to stay overnight in a clinic.
Accessibility: Home sleep studies are more accessible for those who live far from a sleep clinic or who may have difficulty with transportation.
Cost-Effective: Often less expensive than in-lab sleep studies, making it a more affordable option for many patients.
If the test suggests that you are at risk for sleep apnea, we encourage you to contact us to schedule a consultation. At Face Focused Orthodontics, we are committed to providing comprehensive care that addresses both the functional and aesthetic aspects of orthodontic treatment, ensuring our patients enjoy better health and well-being.
Consultation: The process begins with a consultation at Face Focused Orthodontics, where we will discuss your symptoms and determine if a home sleep study is appropriate for you.
Equipment: If recommended, you’ll be provided with a portable sleep monitoring device to take home. This device typically includes sensors that attach to your finger, chest, and nasal passages.
Conducting the Study: On the night of the study, you’ll wear the device as instructed and go to sleep as you normally would. The device will record essential data throughout the night.
Returning the Equipment: After completing the study, you’ll return the device to our office, where the data will be downloaded and analyzed by a sleep specialist.
Reviewing the Results: Once the analysis is complete, we will review the results with you and discuss any necessary treatment options if a sleep disorder is detected. For those seeking more in-depth analysis and interpretation of their sleep study results, additional reading by a sleep physician is available. Contact our office to learn more!
