What’s Involved In Re-opening Spaces?

Here’s what you need to know…

Removable appliances made of wire and acrylic are worn all the time (except for meals) for several months. These appliances are slowly activated to move the crowns of the teeth apart where the spaces are to be re-opened. The roots of the teeth are still close together, however, after wearing these appliances. Braces are placed to move the roots apart so that implants restored with crowns can replace the permanent teeth which were removed. The result is a much broader smile and much more room for the tongue.
